Clinic Aide (two positions)

Description: Work as the Clinic Aide and member of the Clinic Team to provide the fullest possible educational opportunity for all students by nurturing and fostering a climate of safe and healthy school considering the physical, mental, social, and emotional health of students and staff.

Qualifications:

* Valid license as an Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or higher

* Such alternatives to the above as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent

Preferred:

* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) Certification

* Two years experience in the field of nursing or medical assistance

* Trained and certified in a crisis de-escalation intervention

Essential Functions:

* Provide school health services, including required vision and hearing screenings, requested assessments for growth and development, and current general state of health.

* Provide care for injured and ill students and staff members.

* Collaborates with the Clinic Nurse to prevent and control communicable diseases and referrals for immunizations as required by law.

* Collaborates with the Clinic Nurse to ensure the management of health documentation, including cumulative health and immunization records for each student.

* Obtain health histories for each child registering for kindergarten.

* Collaborates with the Clinic Nurse to prepare reports for state and local agencies and authorities.

* Advises and counsels students and school personnel about health matters, including exclusion and readmission of students with contagious diseases.

* Confer with administrators, teachers, and staff to evaluate the health status of students.

* Collaborates with students' school teams as a health consultant when needed.

* Provide a report of a student's health history and health assessment (i.e., vision and hearing assessments) for students' multifactored evaluations which are used to determine the student's eligibility for services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

* Administers medications following the policies/procedures set forth by Bexley City

* Attends staff, professional, and inter-agency meetings and educational workshops to maintain and improve skills.

* Participate with school staff in developing and implementing school health programs.

* Serve as a resource for health education.

Position Hours and workdays: Full-time; first shift; (8:00am to 4:00pm); 30 minute lunch (unpaid) Monday - Friday. School year calendar 182 paid days and 8 paid holidays.

Position starting Salary Range (pay is commensurate with OAPSE classified contract effective July 1, 2024): $22.85 p/hour (no experience) up to $24.50 (with verifiable and related experience).
