Summary
Coordinates the support for all leave of absence programs such as FMLA, ADA, short-term disability, workers' compensation claims, and unemployment claims. Collaboratively coordinates all cases/claims to include general administration, with the leave of absences, workers compensation and unemployment vendors. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all government regulations and laws as well as company policies, and guidelines. Performs exemplary customer service and assistance to associates, executives and HR business partners.
Essential Functions

- Serves as the subject matter expert for the leaves, ADA, workers' compensation, unemployment programs in alignment and under the general direction of the Third-Party Vendors (TPA).
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure the workers' compensation program is managed in accordance with applicable OSHA and workers' compensation laws.
- Develops reporting systems to identify complex cases that need legal involvement.
- Maintains OSHA logs and other tracking logs.
- Provides case management and coordinates administrative aspects of the cases and claims with the vendor. Conducts/coordinates investigations into all reported workers' compensation claims.
- Coordinates with management to develop plans for restrictions and return to work accommodations.
- Participate in the interactive conversation process with staff members.
- Ensures that all reportable workers' compensation claims are submitted to the company's
vendor within 48 business hours from the date of the incident.
- Ensures that workers' compensations claims are coordinated with FMLA.
- Works closely with the Management and Payroll to ensure that pay and accruals for staff is accurate and correct when staff is on Leave or Workers Compensation.
- Manages vendor relationships.
- Partners closely with all vendors on all leave cases and workers' compensation claims.
- Partners closely with P&C Business Partner Managers on unemployment claims.
- Corresponds with management regarding staff applying for leave and any determinations that are made through TPA.
- Maintains appropriate contact with all vendors while staff are on leave and assists with all aspects of return to work for staff members. Appropriately notifies management and payroll.
Non-Essential Functions
- As requested, represents the agency at hearings. Works closely with all supervisors and the Health and Safety Committee members to evaluate claims and control accidents.
- Manages Discretionary leave.
- Ensure that all Incident Reports are completed within 48 hours of the incident.
- Ensures that all Incident Reports are reviewed within 48 business hours of being notified
- Attends meetings and training as necessary.
- All other assigned duties.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility but assists in leading and managing the work of the recruitment team through ongoing communication, setting expectations, and working to develop best practices.
Work Environment
Like all members of the Human Resources team, this role works primarily from a remote location of
the employee's residence. Drop-in office space at our Checkrein offices is available.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to twenty pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is required but primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected occasionally. Occasional travel for in-person meetings is expected with all safety equipment provided and precautions observed.

Position Requirements Required Education:
- Associate degree in human resources, Business Administration, Communications, or other related field required OR Two years' experience as a leave administrator and workers' compensation.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in managing leave cases (FMLA, ADA, workers'
compensation, and unemployment).
- In-depth knowledge of government regulations, state, and employment laws.
- Must have strong organizational skills and computer proficiency (MS Office).
- Must be self-directed, proactive, and have the ability to work independently.
- Strong collaboration skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Communications, or another related field required
- Experience working in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, or other complex healthcare needs.
- Leave Administrator Certification
- Experience with working with Third-Party Vendors.
