Director of Membership Services & Information Systems

The Ohio Association of School Business Officials (OASBO) | Columbus, Ohio

The Ohio Association of School Business Officials (OASBO), founded in 1936, is a nonprofit professional association representing public school district treasurers/CFOs, business managers and other school business officials across Ohio. Based in Columbus, OASBO supports members through advocacy, collaboration and professional development, while offering group savings and investment programs for school districts.

Primary Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Membership Services & Information Systems works collaboratively with senior staff, administrative staff and members. This role will support membership growth and retention while optimizing technology solutions to enhance the member experience and improve internal efficiencies.

Essential Functions :

Membership Management & Engagement

  1. Administer and maintain OASBO's membership database (MemberSuite), ensuring data accuracy, security and efficiency.
  2. Develop and implement strategies for membership recruitment, retention and engagement.
  3. Plan and implement the association's annual membership drive.
  4. Serve as the primary point of contact for membership inquiries, providing excellent customer service and troubleshooting issues.
  5. Manage membership renewals, onboarding processes and reporting to track trends and engagement.
  6. Work closely with the Director of Communications and others to ensure timely and effective member outreach and engagement initiatives.
  7. Oversee and maintain OASBO's technology platforms, including MemberSuite, website integrations, event registration systems and other association management tools.
  8. Collaborate with staff and external vendors to ensure technology systems are aligned with organizational needs and goals.
  9. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance user experience for members and staff.
  10. Provide training and support to staff and members on using MemberSuite and other relevant technologies.
  11. Troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate updates and ensure seamless integration between platforms.
  12. Oversee the association's external IT firm.

Data Management & Reporting

  1. Generate and analyze membership and engagement reports to support decision-making and strategy development.
  2. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to membership growth, retention and engagement.
  3. Ensure compliance with data security policies and best practices.

Strategic Plan/initiatives

  1. Work with members and staff in collaboration to execute the strategic plan and relevant initiatives.
  2. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Five (5) years of experience in membership management, technology administration or association operations.
  3. Proficiency with association management systems (AMS), preferably MemberSuite.
  4. Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools.
  5. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, website content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms.
  6. Strong technical skills, including database management, reporting and troubleshooting.
  7. Experience managing multiple technology platforms and integrating systems.
  8. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
  9. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  10. Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
  11. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on customer service and user experience.

Salary range: $75,000 - $105,000 depending on experience.
