Human Resources Internship

Part Time: 15-20+ hours a week required

Pay: $17.00/hour

Location: Columbus, OH


Position Overview:

As the Human Resources Intern you will support the daily operations of our HR department. This role provides hands-on experience in key HR functions, including onboarding, compliance, employee engagement, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and professional individual pursuing a career in Human Resources.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with pre-hire onboarding and orientation tasks for internal new hires.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance within the HRIS system.
  • Manage and respond to inquiries in the HR service inbox.
  • Draft and track offer letters, promotion notices, and compensation adjustment letters.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal pay-it-forward efforts.
  • Schedule meetings and trainings, while assisting in the creation and organization of materials.
  • Conduct and support HR audits to ensure compliance.
  • Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR Generalist on various HR projects and tasks.


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Passion for HR and a desire to build a career in the field.
  • Professional, accountable, and emotionally intelligent with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, assertiveness, and diplomacy.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Adaptability and patience in handling multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate HRIS and HR software applications.
