Senior Transportation Driver
LOOKING FOR: Applicants who are willing and able to work Wednesdays and Fridays while also being flexible to work other days of the week as needed!
Position Summary: The Senior Transportation Driver has the opportunity and responsibility to directly serve as an ambassador of the City of Groveport to the senior and disabled residents of the City. This person will function to assist the client as needed to and from their residence door to the door of the destination with safety, courtesy, care, and exceptional customer service at all times.
PURPOSE: Acts as primary driver for group outings and special events. Drives clients to and from medical and personal appointments, performs maintenance on and cleans vehicles, completes reports and other work as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: An example of acceptable qualifications:
Completion of secondary education or equivalent; six (6) months of related work experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid/BBP certification at the earliest first available training session after hire; must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and maintain insurability under the Municipality's vehicle insurance policy.

Department vehicle, hand and power tools, cellular phone (hands free device), calculator, two-way radio, personal computer, computer software, printer, copy machine, fax machine, and other standard business office equipment.
INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS:

JOB DESCRIPTION AND WORKER CHARACTERISTICS:
JOB DUTIES in order of importance
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: For purposes of 42 USC 12101:
60% (1) Operates a variety of departmental vehicles to provide transportation for clients to and from appointments; assists clients into and out of appointments per departmental procedures; operates wheelchairs/equipment, walkers, and canes to assist clients to appointments; assists and is responsible for carrying client belongings to and from appointments; takes questions, concerns, and complaints from clients; communicates with clients who require accommodations.
20% (2) Maintains logs of all appointments and mileage; assists in the scheduling of clients as required; completes other documentation accurately as required; meets with supervisor on a regular basis to discuss departmental issues and concerns.
15% (3) Cleans vehicles; performs maintenance checks of vehicles; checks vehicles for needed service and repairs; documents and records repairs and maintenance on vehicles per department policy; notifies supervisor of needed repairs.
5% (4) Assists with facility/room set-ups and tear downs and minor maintenance and repair if necessary; may serve as lead worker to less senior or part-time drivers; may fill in for Senior Services Manager in his/her absence.
(5) Maintains contacts with clients, vendors, and various government agencies/officials in order to obtain or disseminate information related to the essential position functions.
(6) Maintains required licensure and certification.
(7) Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.
(8) Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
