We are a leading company in the sales industry, currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Warehouse Department Manager. This role will oversee the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring that all processes are running smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with a strong background in distribution, inbound, stock, receive, transfer, receiving, and performance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for logistics and operational excellence, looking to take the next step in their career.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, distribution, and stock management.
  • Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly, and dispatch of goods.
  • Use space and handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets, and environmental objectives are met.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies.
  • Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems where necessary.
  • Plan future capacity requirements.
  • Organize the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress.
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment.
  • Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in distribution, inbound, stock, receive, transfer, receiving, and performance.
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage staff.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing and distribution procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety may be required.
