Data Scientist (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

1. Serve as technical lead for a small team of data scientists in the execution of an annual quantitative risk assessment for CBRNE terrorism attacks against the U.S. using existing software models and architecture.
2. Determine improvements and maintenance activities to improve the efficiency of the existing risk execution system/software.
3. Maintain detailed internal-facing documentation on the execution process and high-level client-facing documentation for the risk analysis/results.
4. Present risk results and modeling/data updates on an annual basis to clients and other external stakeholders.
5. Monitor task completion and communicate progress to the client on weekly teleconferences.
6. Write annual reports of methods used and results obtained.

1. Bachelor's with 5+ years of experience, Master's with 2+ years of experience, or Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or other scientific field.
2. Strong understanding of higher-level mathematics (e.g., calculus, differential equations, linear algebra).
3. At least one year of experience with project management or task leadership with proven ability to meet project deadlines on schedule and within budget.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills of scientific, technical data to non-technical and semi-technical audiences.
5. Ability to travel domestically up to 10%.
6. Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.

1. At least 3 years of experience in modeling & simulation, statistical analysis, quantitative risk assessment, data science, systems engineering or related field.
2. Knowledge of advanced statistics and/or probability & Graph Theory.
3. Strong technical writing skills.
4. Experience with data visualization techniques.
5. Experience in modeling & simulation on a government program.
6. Experience using object-oriented programming in C++, C#, Java, or similar to develop mathematical models.
7. Experience with advanced data analysis techniques, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, or natural language processing.
