Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Plant Controller to lead the financial operations of their manufacturing facility. This role is a key business partner to plant leadership, responsible for delivering accurate financial insights, maintaining strong internal controls, and driving cost efficiency and performance improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all financial activities at the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, and financial reporting.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to plant leadership, providing financial analysis to support decision-making and improve operational performance.
  • Manage and maintain cost accounting processes, including standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation, cycle counts, and reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, GAAP standards, and internal control procedures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Support internal and external audits, preparing documentation and ensuring timely responses to audit requests.
  • Develop and mentor the plant accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and corporate finance teams.

Work arrangement: onsite

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance/accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders. Exceptional attention to detail, integrity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
