Position: Director, Quality Management

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Reports to: President

Summary:

Adsorption Research, Inc. (ARI), headquartered in Metro Columbus, Ohio, focuses on developing technologies that remove contaminants, such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and oxygen from biogas. ARI is also focused on emerging global needs, like CO2 capture, gas purification and/or re-use for industry, water purification, and air quality enhancement. The Director of Quality leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality programs across the organization. This role ensures that processes, services and operations meet or exceed internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. The Director collaborates with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of excellence, risk management and accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with ARI's organizational goals
  • Establish policies, procedures and metrics to monitor and improve quality performance
  • Provide leadership and direction to quality assurance teams internally and externally

Quality Management:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of quality control systems to ensure consistency and reliability of processes, products and services
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean methodologies) to enhance operational efficiency and outcomes
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Identify and analyze quality issues, root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions- § Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in quality management
  • Maintain records and documentation related to quality activities

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Serve as the primary liaison with agencies, auditors, internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards is met.-
  • Identify and assess quality-related risks, analyze potential problems and develop mitigation strategies to prevent them from occurring.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans, including identifying risks, assessing their likelihood and impact, and developing strategies to reduce or eliminate them

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Partner with all operation, engineering, process development and other departments to integrate quality into all processes
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on key performance indicators (KPI's), risks and achievements
  • Educate and engage employees at all levels to promote a culture of quality awareness
  • Manage resources and timelines for quality-related activities
  • Understand customer requirements and expectations via visiting project sites, gathering feedback, and analyzing customer data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure that products and services meet customer needs and expectations. Work cross-functionally to ensure that products and services are meeting customer needs and expectations and addressing any customer complaints.
  • Promote a culture of customer satisfaction. Encourage employees to focus on customer needs and expectations, and provide them with the tools and resources they need to meet those needs
  • Interface with vendors & suppliers in developing strong relationships where collaboration and mutually beneficial solutions are paramount.
  • Ensure vendors and suppliers meet quality standards set forth by ARI.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • B.S. Degree in relevant field (e.g. Engineering, Business Administration, Quality Management). Advanced degree or certifications are a plus
  • 8-10 years of proven experience in quality assurance or related field
  • (Lean) Six Sigma Black Belt or higher preferred
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO9001) and regulations
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate across the organization
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
