In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:The Research Student Assistant position is under the direct supervision of the Primary Investigator/Faculty member. Under the supervision of a regular faculty member conducting the research project, the Research Student Assistant is responsible for assisting the faculty member in a variety of non-administrative tasks which may include collecting data, conducting interviews, preparing resources, equipment, materials for the research, documenting results, etc. in support of the research activities.
Typical Duties: The Research Student Assistant works under the PI (Primary Investigator/supervising faculty) who determines the research goals to assist in the preparation for and achievement of the research goals which may include the following and/or other duties specific to the research objectives:
Researches through complex techniques and procedures, library research, structured interviews or other project specific methodology. Using AI and Analysis softwares such as NviVO, orDedoose.
Collects, interprets, synthesizes and analyzes data.
Schedules, organizes and reports on status of research activities.
Plans and modifies research techniques, procedures, tests, equipment or software management.
Writes and edits materials for publication and presentation.
Meets with faculty supervisor on regular basis to maintain ongoing communication regarding the quality of the assistants performance.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications: Education/Experience
Completed a Bachelors degree (preferably in a health sciences field, sociology, psychology, or kinesiology) with experience and authority in the subject matter of the research project in question.
Must be currently enrolled in a masters degree program.
Skills/Abilities
Subject knowledge and oral/written communication skills. Ability to work independently, accurately and to problem solve technical and methodological issues that arise during the course of the research while maintaining communication with the Primary Investigator/Faculty. Strong organization and interpersonal skills. Able to work effectively with a team.
Additional Information:This position participates in site visits within the community where reliable transportation is required.
The pay rate is hourly, and tuition assistance is not provided.
