Position: Director of Housing Operations

The Director of Housing Operations provides strategic leadership and oversight of administrative functions across all housing communities. This role collaborates closely with Housing Services team members and Central Office departments to ensure efficient operations, excellent service delivery, and full regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions

  1. Supervise UCH Regional Housing Directors.
  2. Set and monitor occupancy targets for the affordable housing portfolio; develop action plans with Regional Directors and community staff.
  3. Maintain excellent customer service and resident relations, including responding to complaints and resolving concerns.
  4. Coordinate hearings and legal compliance processes with UCH legal counsel.
  5. Manage onboarding of new communities.
  6. Participate in semi-annual Board visits to sites.
  7. Coordinate marketing efforts with the Marketing Department.
  8. Implement and monitor Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans.
  9. Recommend policy and procedural improvements.
  10. Collaborate on policy and process changes with the Housing Team.
  11. Ensure readiness for reviews, audits, and inspections.
  12. Monitor maintenance metrics and work with teams on capital plans.
  13. Oversee financial performance, including reviewing reports and assisting with budgeting.
  14. Coordinate training sessions and conferences.
  15. Work with HR to ensure performance management.
  16. Ensure compliance with EEOC, Fair Housing, and other regulations.
  17. Build relationships with external partners and vendors.
  18. Perform other duties and projects as needed.

Skills & Abilities

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Health, Finance, or Human Services. Occupancy or compliance certification is a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in affordable housing management; experience with vulnerable populations is preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, internet, and office equipment; experience with property management systems like Yardi or Workday is essential.

Certifications & Licenses: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Other Requirements: Results-oriented, able to manage multiple projects, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and adhere to company policies.
