Job Opportunity: Environmental Engineer at Brown and Caldwell

Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Engineer to join our Columbus team. This role offers the chance to work in a growth-oriented professional consulting environment with a diverse team of geologists, engineers, and scientists. The selected candidate will work under the mentorship of experienced, nationally recognized staff on various environmental projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering tasks within the water/wastewater engineering group.
• Design engineering reports, construction plans, specifications, calculations, equipment selection, and cost estimates.
• Conduct field inspections and testing to ensure performance and compliance with plans and specifications.
• Assist in preparing technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
• Contribute to studies and alternative analyses.
• Understand regulatory and permitting requirements for Columbus and Ohio.
• Develop permitting plans and assist with permit applications.
• Engage in field activities and site investigations.
• Collect, analyze, manipulate, and document data.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field; M.S. preferred.
• Experience or coursework in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance.
• Self-starter, organized, results-oriented, and team-oriented.
• Proficiency with engineering software like MathCAD, MATLAB, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
• Willingness to perform fieldwork and physically demanding tasks.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is advantageous.
• Aspiring to obtain Fundamentals of Engineering certification and licensure within 3-5 years.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with MS Project, MS Access, CADD, ArcGIS is beneficial.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures, wear safety equipment, and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs or ladders.

Compensation and Benefits:
