The Magistrate will be required to conduct all civil hearings referred by the Judge as authorized by Civ.R.53, including, but not limited to, forcible entry and detainer cases, garnishments, case management conferences, pre-trials, settlement conferences, evidence and default hearings, small claims trials, and other civil trials. In addition, the Magistrate will be required to conduct all criminal and traffic hearings referred by the Judge as authorized by Crim.R. 19 and Traf.R. 14, including but not limited to arraignments, pretrials, motion hearings, and trials.QUALIFICATIONS:
The magistrate must possess a Law Degree with a minimum of four years in the practice of law. The magistrate must be admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio and in good standing at the time of application.Additional Information

The Cleveland Heights Municipal Court is seeking a Full-Time Magistrate.
A commitment to public service is essential. The applicant selected will be subject to a drug and background check, and continued employment will be contingent upon a favorable suitability determination. A negative finding may result in termination of employment. The magistrate is subject to the Ohio Code of Judicial Conduct, must comply with the continuing legal education requirements pursuant to Ohio Gov. Jud. R. IV, Sec. 4 (A), and is required to complete an annual registration pursuant to Rule 19 of the Rules of Superintendence and Rule 4 of the Rules for the Government of the Judiciary.
