About the Role:

The Van Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of guests to and from the Hampton Inn Columbus Airport. This position requires a commitment to providing excellent customer service while adhering to safety protocols and regulations. The Van Driver will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the vehicle, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety. Additionally, the role involves assisting guests, particularly the frail elderly, with their luggage and ensuring their comfort during transit. Ultimately, the Van Driver contributes to a positive guest experience, enhancing the overall reputation of the hotel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality-related roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a van driver or in a similar transportation role.
  • Knowledge of local area and attractions to provide recommendations to guests.
  • First aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport guests to and from the airport and local attractions in a safe and timely manner.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Assist guests with their luggage and provide support to those with special needs, including the frail elderly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the van, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and hotel staff to coordinate transportation needs and schedules.

Skills:

The required skills are essential for daily operations as the Van Driver must communicate effectively with guests to ensure their needs are met. Reading and writing skills are necessary for completing transportation logs and ensuring all safety protocols are documented.
