We are currently hiring for multiple Scientist openings in the gene therapy field here in the Columbus, Ohio area! These openings are primarily going to help support the manufacturing of Gene Therapy products in a cleanroom laboratory environment. Most of the lab work will include performing a lot of cell culture related duties.

An ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in a scientific field such as biochemistry, microbiology, biology, molecular genetics, or other similar fields. We are also looking for experience performing cell culture related duties (ideally mammalian or eukaryotic cells). This experience may come from undergraduate research/internships or ideally from industry. A PhD or similar level candidate would be considered overqualified for these openings.

Job Description

The Scientist I is responsible for supporting all aspects of this Gene Therapy manufacturing lab which will include both utilizing laboratory skills and techniques, and various documentation duties. Duties will include:

  • Will primarily perform cell culturing duties relating to either production, virus development, or other duties as needed.
  • Work in collaboration with laboratory management and staff to cultivate and enact the strategic direction of the GMP area, including determination of schedule and project timelines/capabilities.
  • Support PD resources and supply chain, including maintaining materials inventory control to meet production goals.
  • Work in Biosafety Cabinets.
  • Operate and perform calibration, validation, and cleaning of all facility equipment and systems as specified in SOPs.
  • Assist in process documentation review, revision, remediation, and process change controls.
  • Work closely with GMP Management to ensure continuous improvement objectives are identified and met using metrics and other statistical means.
  • Participate in making and developing viruses, including some PD work.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in a scientific field, ideally in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or Genetics, but would consider other related fields.
  • Experience in tissue culture, virology, microbiology, mammalian cell culture, and/or eukaryotic systems.
  • PhD or similar level candidates would be considered overqualified for these openings.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
