Human Resources Generalist – Non-Profit

$35,000k; Permanent Opportunity

Monday-Friday; Part-Time (25-30 hours a week)

What you'll be doing:

  • Administer and executecore HR functions including compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, disciplinary actions, dispute resolution, investigations, performance management, employee engagement, and training and development
  • Serve as a first pointof contact for employment-related inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, payroll and general practices
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Review, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and best practices
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including postingjob openings, screeningapplicants, assisting in interviews, extending offers, coordinating onboarding schedules and training, and processing new hire documentation
  • Coordinate and supportthe annual and semi-annual performance review processes, ensuring timely completion and documentation
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll, including time and attendance tracking, PTO, holidayand bereavement time,and tax-related documentation for specific local municipalities
  • Act as a liaison betweenemployees and externalbenefits providers, including health, disability, retirement, and other plans
  • Communicate benefits information and updates to staff
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employeerecords, HRIS data,and documentation in accordance with legal standards and organizational practices
  • Facilitate the employeeoffboarding process, including paperwork, departmental notifications, and conducting exit interviews
  • Design and deliverstaff-wide training programsand targeted leadership development initiatives to promote continuous learning and professional growth
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assignedto support the department and organizations' needs


Who we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field,along with a minimum of 2 years experience as an HR Generalist is required
  • Professional certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP or similar credentials are highly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacityto handle sensitiveand confidential matters with discretion
  • Exceptional organizational skillsand attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations
