EMH&T is currently seeking a Civil Engineer (EI) to join our Public Works team located in Columbus, OH.
Our EIs work under the guidance of experienced Engineers and Project Managers who provide mentorship and support throughout your career development. Additionally, EMH&T offers a dedicated support team to train you on our drafting and design standards, ensuring you are well-prepared for success in this role.
The Public Works division's projects may include public municipality work, sewer and waterline design, park design, roadway and utility design, economic planning, paving projects plus more, and you will perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Develop plan drawings and calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads for projects such as sanitary systems, stormwater management, roadway design.
- Produce base maps for plan development, generate 3D surface models, corridors, profiles, and cross-sections, as well as perform drafting tasks.
- Ability to apply engineering knowledge to practical design challenges.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
- Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Work independently after receiving appropriate guidance.
- Collaborate effectively with team members in a supportive and cooperative environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 0 - 4 years experience.
- Work experience, including internships or co-op experiences in civil, construction, or a related area and exposure to engineering consulting firm environment, preferred.
