Overview

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Clinic in Columbus, Ohio (43210). This locum tenens RN job offers the opportunity to deliver oncology care to patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics, in a leading cancer hospital's Radiation Oncology Unit.

Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210)

Facility: Leading Cancer Hospital Radiation Oncology Unit

Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (locum tenens)

Shift: Day Shift, 4x10-hour shifts/week (07:00 17:30 or 07:30 18:00, based on clinic needs)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 End: 1/5/2026)

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1920 - $1970

Patient Population: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Clinic Rooms: 17

Documentation System: EPIC (required)

Orientation: 24 hours

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to oncology patients receiving cancer treatment and symptom management
• Care for patients with diverse cancer diagnoses, including head and neck, sarcoma, CNS, thoracic, GU, and pediatric cancers
• Perform specialized procedures: accessing ports, central line care, phlebotomy, wound care, tracheostomy management
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the oncology treatment process
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, administer medications, and manage side effects (nausea, vomiting, neuropathy)
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other units as needed to support patient care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Oncology Clinic
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BLS certification (required)
• EPIC charting experience (required)
• Preferred certifications: ONS, OCN, PALS, ACLS
• Ability to float to other clinical units as needed
• Two professional references (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• First-time travel nurses welcome
