Turner & Townsendare seeking an experienced Director-Project Controls to join our team. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of successful client delivery and managing project control teams. This individual will lead project controls services for major client accounts and will help with wider business initiatives as needed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Establish and execute the high-level strategic direction of project controls including cost, risk, and schedule management.
  2. Lead risk workshops to identify risks, establish likelihood/severity, mitigation actions, and owners.
  3. Coordinate cross-functional project control deliverables.
  4. Motivate and provide clear direction to the team.
  5. Participate in weekly meetings to discuss progress and drive performance.
  6. Develop and produce regular project reporting.
  7. Prepare documentation for project gateways and approvals.
  8. Develop guidelines for project chartering and partnering.
  9. Review project master schedules and critical path elements.
  10. Develop project budgets, cash flows, and financial plans.
  11. Oversee risk management processes.
  12. Develop the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
  13. Review and critique project implementation plans.
  14. Manage project estimating and lifecycle asset costing.
  15. Develop change management and impact mitigation strategies.
  16. Ensure team performance against project baseline metrics.
  17. Establish protocols for diversity compliance, monitoring, and reporting.
  18. Establish metrics for progress reporting and project status.
  19. Review and oversee cost reduction initiatives and diversity recommendations.
  20. Review construction progress, claims resolutions, and recovery plans.
  21. Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve consensus.
  22. Coordinate ongoing risk processes and Monte Carlo analyses.
  23. Consider expanding project deliverables and developing end-to-end control processes.
  24. Lead the Project Controls Team ensuring quality and compliance, including SOX controls where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or related field.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of relevant project controls experience, including portfolio controls.
  • 5+ years managing high-performing project control teams in consulting and regulatory environments.
  • Strong soft skills and client management experience.
  • Knowledge of contract delivery methods and project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
