$100,000.00/hr - $130,000.00/hr

Electrical Engineer
As an Electrical Engineer at Mid-City Electric, youll design and support complex, high-impact electrical systems while collaborating with some of the best talent in the industry. Whether you're a licensed PE or working toward certification, youll have the resources, mentorship, and ownership opportunities (through our 100% ESOP) to grow a meaningful, rewarding career.
What Youll Do
As an Electrical Engineer at Mid-City, youll support project teams in the design, coordination, and implementation of electrical systems for new construction, renovation, and design-build projects. Youll work closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure systems are safe, effective, and built to last.
- Designing and coordinating electrical systems for commercial construction projects
- Reviewing architectural and electrical drawings, specifications, and code requirements
- Performing load calculations, lighting layouts, power distribution design, and system coordination studies
- Preparing construction documents, including submittals, shop drawings, and as-built drawings
- Selecting materials and equipment based on technical specs, cost, and energy efficiency
- Ensuring designs meet NEC and local building codes
- Providing job site support during installation and resolving field issues
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful outcomes
What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the construction industry
- Working knowledge of NEC, local codes, and commercial electrical systems
- PE license or working toward licensure
- Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
