Director of Construction

A well-established Developer + Design/Build General Contractor in Columbus is seeking a highly experienced Director of Construction to lead, scale and oversee all commercial construction operations as they continue their rapid growth across Central Ohio.

This is a strategic leadership role with full responsibility for driving delivery excellence, managing field + PM teams, setting operational standards, and supporting growth of project volume and project value.

What we're looking for:

• 15+ years commercial construction experience (ground up + TI/renovation)
• Proven background in design-build delivery models
• Experience leading PMs + Supers at a senior level
• Ability to implement systems, process, controls, KPIs
• Strong financial acumen (cost control, forecasting, P&L understanding)
• Columbus / Central Ohio commercial construction market knowledge

Day to day responsibilities:

• Oversee all field operations + project execution
• Lead project delivery teams (PMs, Supers, PE's)
• Set standards for project reporting, cost control + quality
• Support Preconstruction leadership for early phase design reviews
• Drive safety culture and subcontractor performance
• Represent the business to clients, partners, architects + owners

Project types:

Commercial ground-up, mixed-use, corporate interiors, industrial/lite industrial, $5M to $80M typical range.
