Senior Data Architect
Location: Marysville, OH (Hybrid of 4 days/week onsite and 1 day/week remote)
Contract Duration - September 2025 - August 1, 2026, with possibility of an extension
Travel - 10% quarterly (travel expenses will be reimbursed)

This Data Architect will be part of a project team for manufacturing and supply chain management divisions and will serve as a member of the Enterprise Architecture team. This is a long term position - multiyear contract that will entail supporting a lot of strategic projects. 90% of the focus will be on data modeling and building data pipelines and 10% of the focus will be on exploring AI and other solutions. This Data Architect will have the opportunity to learn new skills while also delivering datqa driven solutions. This Senior Data Architect will be specializing in the following areas:

  • Understanding data confidentiality, security, compliance needs and apply data protection rules including data sharing, filtering, and fencing at storage, compute, and consumption layers.
  • Designing data protection solutions at database, table, column level and APIs based on enterprise standard data security, privacy, architecture principles and reference architectures.
  • Designing the structure and layout of data systems, including databases, warehouses, and lakes Select and implement database management systems that meet the organization's needs by defining data schemas, optimizing data storage, and establishing data access controls and security measures
  • Delivering exceptional business value by enhancing data pipeline performance, ensuring timely orchestration, and upholding data governance.
Daily Tasks will Entail the Following:
  • Translate high-level business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data, and data quality standards.
  • Manage Senior Business Stakeholders from manufacturing and supply chain management divisions to secure strong engagement and ensures that the delivery of the project aligns with longer-term strategic roadmaps.
  • Lead and participate in the peer review and quality assurance of project architectural artifacts.
  • Define and manage standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure data quality.
  • Work with IT teams, Business Analysts, and Data Analytics teams to understand data consumers' needs and develop solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks for team and vendor partners to ensure the effectiveness of architecture services.
Required Skills and Expertise:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • M inimum of 10 years of relevant experience in design and implementation of data models (Erwin) for enterprise data warehouse initiatives.
  • Experience leading projects involving cloud data lakes, data warehousing, data modeling, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in the design and implementation of modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (AWS), real-time data distribution (Kinesis, Kafka, Dataflow), and modern data warehouse tools (Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks).
    • Note - AWS and AWS Redshift are both must have skills
  • Experience with various database platforms, including DB2, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL , Couchbase, MongoDB, etc.
  • Needs to have a solid understanding of entity-relationship modeling, metadata systems, and data security, quality tools and techniques.
  • Must be highly skilled in writing integration and ETL specs
  • Need to be able to understand the business requirements and work with the Solution Architect, understand domain knowledge and focus on the following tasks:
    • Data Profiling
    • Creating conceptual, logical, and physical data models
    • Write mapping documents
    • Write ETL specs
    • Help with testing and validation efforts

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with business intelligence tools and technologies such as Informatica, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • previous OEM or automotive manufacturing related experience is a plus.
