Job Description Summary

The Dishwasher plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and work areas to ensure smooth food & beverage operations and an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using both machine and manual cleaning methods.
• Ensure all dishes are properly stored in designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of dish room, kitchen floors, trash areas, and loading dock.
• Dispose of trash and recycling following hotel guidelines and safety standards.
• Assist with basic food prep or kitchen tasks as directed by chefs or supervisors.
• Follow all sanitation, health, and food safety regulations.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and report any malfunctions immediately.
• Support kitchen team by keeping areas stocked, organized, and clean.
• Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries when needed.
• Uphold Sonesta's Culture of Caring through teamwork, respect, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Prior dishwasher or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
