University of Miami - - Responsibilities: Transports patients and/or visitors from department/unit to department/unit and to and from ancillary areas to include admissions and discharge; Assists at main lobby greeting patients and/or assisting with transport between assignments; Identifies correct patient for transportation prior to movement by asking the patient for name and date of birth and comparing that against armband; Observes proper procedures and techniques during patient transport: monitors oxygen and intravenous apparatus and reports any problems; Keeps hallways clear by storing equipment in the appropriate storage areas and exercises caution when moving stretchers, wheelchairs, and equipment
