Warehouse Associate/Local Delivery Driver

Daikin Comfort Technologies Northeast is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Warehouse Associate/Local Delivery Driver position for our branch operations group located at our Philadelphia, PA branch. The Warehouse Driver is responsible for transporting goods and materials within a warehouse or distribution center. Their primary role is to safely and efficiently move products from one location to another using various types of vehicles, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or trucks.

Position responsibilities may include:

Warehouse:

Safely and efficiently operate forklift and additional warehouse equipment to load/unload/transfer material and product without causing damage within the warehouse and to/from delivery trucks

Ensure all items are received per procedure and stocked in assigned locations

Maintain inventory and prepare cycle counts

Complete will calls

Responsible for timely and accurate completion of paperwork and transaction entries

Proper PPE and uniform must be worn at all times during each shift

Maintain warehouse and forklift by following good housekeeping and safety procedures including pre and post shift forklift inspections. Alert manager of any concerns immediately.

Assist customers and CSRs as needed

Follow standard operating procedures, established work processes and company policies

Perform additional tasks as required

Driver:

Load, unload and deliver product to customer sites within designated time frames safely using the most efficient routes as possible

Maintain required logs and reports necessary to maintain compliance with DOT and company policies relating to safety standards and operation of delivery vehicles, forklifts etc.

Safely load and properly block, brace, and secure the cargo.

Strong knowledge of driving/traffic and transportation laws, regulations and ensure continuous compliance while operating the truck(s).

Perform pre-check and post-check operations of company vehicles and forklifts per required procedures

Perform warehouse duties and ensure accurate product and quantity of product is being loaded/transferred for customers

Notify the manager immediately of any accidents, damage, violations and areas of concerns to implement corrective measures and/or actions.

Perform additional tasks as required

Nature & scope:

Works within well-defined instructions

Uses established procedures and works under supervision to perform assigned tasks

Work is closely supervised

Knowledge & skills:

Effective verbal and written communication skills

High level of attention to detail and surroundings

Basic computer skills including data entry to process transactions and generate reports and orders

Ability to successfully process (ex. loading and unloading) products

Ability to operate a forklift safely and work in a fast-paced warehouse

Ability to pass Prove It and driving test

Must be eligible to be forklift certified in house within 30 days

Effective verbal and written communication skills

High level of attention to detail and surroundings

Basic computer skills including data entry to process transactions and generate reports and orders

Ability to understand and follow work instructions, policies and procedures

Be dependable, work well in a team environment, and establish positive working relationships with employees and customers

Ability to work in warehouse that is not climate controlled

Safely operate various company trucks, vans, flat beds and/or trailers to deliver product to customer sites within designated time frames safely using the most efficient routes as possible

Strong knowledge of driving/traffic and transportation laws, regulations and ensure continuous compliance while operating the truck(s).

Operate forklift safely and efficiently to transfer, load, unload product ensure accurate product and quantity of product is being loaded into customer

Perform pre-check and post-check operations of company vehicles and forklifts per required procedures

Follow good housekeeping and safety practices

Excellent driving record

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to proficiently use MS Office including Outlook & Excel, Mincron and a scanner

Knowledge of shipping/receiving policies

Experience:

2 plus years of warehouse experience a plus

Previous training on operating forklifts and delivery trucks is highly preferred

Education/certification:

High school diploma or GED

Must have valid driver's license

People management: No
