Summary

Weitz & Luxenberg is a nationally prominent plaintiff's law firm headquartered in New York City and widely recognized for its leadership in asbestos litigation. Weitz & Luxenberg is currently seeking an experienced Asbestos Attorney to handle asbestos trials and litigation matters in our Cherry Hill, NJ office. The ideal candidate will have 8–10 years of litigation experience, including significant trial experience and a strong background in plaintiffs' personal injury law.


Responsibilities

  • Handle asbestos litigation matters.
  • Manage a caseload from initiation through resolution, including investigation, client depositions; deposing other witnesses as needed, opposing motions for summary judgements and preparation for trial as needed
  • Conduct thorough investigations and case development;
  • Draft and argue motions and other substantive legal filings;
  • Represent clients with professionalism, empathy, and dedication throughout the litigation process
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective trial strategies and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture
  • Guide asbestos victims through the deposition and trial process


Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school;
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of New Jersey;
  • 2–4 years of litigation experience
  • Substantial trial experience as first chair
  • Demonstrated experience in plaintiffs' personal injury litigation, preferably asbestos-related matters
  • Dynamic trial skills with a proven ability to take verdicts
  • Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while accommodating clients' medical treatment schedules
  • Strong sense of empathy and ability to effectively support asbestos victims throughout litigation.


The annual salary range for the position is $140,000-$200,000. The referenced salary range is based on the Firm's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
