Mount Saint Joseph Academy is seeking a Head Golf Coach for a part-time position in the Athletic Department. The successful candidate will help build players' confidence and skill, and will exhibit a commitment to a positive and inclusive environment that encourages athletic development, teamwork, and personal growth. She/he will effectively interact with all types of audiences, such as school administrators, colleagues, parents, students, and community members to build our reputation at the highest level. Role and Responsibilities The head coach leads the team's development by providing high-quality instruction and fostering a positive, athlete-centered team culture. Responsibilities will include: Training a team of athletes on a constant basis for the ideal physical condition by using proven methods to help improve technical skill advancement, holistic training and performance, and game-day execution Teaching rules and regulations to help athletes develop a high level of understanding. Monitoring athlete development and well-being, and helping to maintain a safe and high-functioning training environment for both individual and team. Collaborating across coaching staff to ensure consistency of training, standards, goals, selection, and strategies for the team Maintaining standards of performance consistent with the Mount's goals of personal, academic, and athletic excellence Maintaining top quality of team equipment, supplies, facilities, uniforms, and conditioning materials. Report match results as required. Report injuries, incidents, or concerns to the school immediately. Follow all protocols and directions for appropriate communication with affected persons (school administration, parents, emergency personnel, etc.). Instilling the values of hard work, determination, resilience, and teamwork Reinforcing a strong team culture rooted in the values of the Mount and Mount Athletics program Maintaining consistent, proactive communication with the Athletic Director to ensure alignment on program goals, athlete development, team needs, and adherence to departmental policies and expectations. The coach will serve as a positive role model and will represent Mount Saint Joseph Academy with distinction while promoting long-term athlete development, performance improvement, and love for the sport. Schedule Practices are 4-5 days/week. The team competes in the Athletic Association of Catholic Academies (AACA) Conference and is a member of PIAA District 1. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with coaching experience and/or previous collegiate playing experience. Coaches will need to be CPR/First Aid Certified (or the ability to become certified). Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support peer and student-athlete engagement are necessary. Compensation Coaches are paid a seasonal stipend.
