It ensures that meals are prepared properly and that food areas remain clean and well organized. As a Cook 1, you will perform the following duties:* Food Preparation: Prepare cooked meats, vegetables, soups, casseroles, sauces, and baked items for regular and therapeutic diets* Equipment Operation: Use kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, kettles, mixers, and grills, and report malfunctions to supervisors* Sanitation Duties: Clean and sanitize utensils, work areas, floors, and equipment used in food preparation and meal service* Recipe Management: Weigh, measure, package, and label ingredients, and assist in developing and testing new recipes* Inventory Control: Record food and supply usage, prepare requisitions, and assist with receiving and inspecting deliveries* Staff Coordination: Assign, review, and assist with routine food production tasks, and help train new cooksInterested in learning more?
