Job Duties

• Provide superior customer service as defined by Di Bruno Bros. within the scope of Company policy
• Assist with the overall direction, coordination, evaluation and financial results of the department
• Assist to manage staff in a manner consistent with Di Bruno Bros.' Servant Leadership Philosophy
• Assist to establish performance goals, allocate resources and assess policies for department Associates
• Assist to conduct employment interviews, performance appraisals and administer rewards and discipline as necessary
• Assist to coach and motivate Associates to foster ongoing development and help them reach their potential
• Ensure compliance of Associates with established policies, procedures and practices
• Assist to monitor department budget and payroll including COG, labor and expenses, taking action when necessary to meet all sales and profitability goals
• Oversee quality standards; assist in conducting continuous inspections and testing of all products to ensure that Company standards are met
• Assist to ensure that all federal, state, local and Company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, sanitation and weights and measures are met
• Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, test merchandise and advertisements
• Maintain the highest level of standards in product display and preparation
• Sell and serve Produce & Non-Perishables foods
• Initiate suggestive selling and sampling of products
• Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise
• Participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock
• Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices
• Communicate any customer special requests to management
• Communicates with coworkers and management to solve problems and improve quality and service

Qualifications

• 1+ years of equivalent experience and training
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to think critically
• Retail experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of produce and nonperishables products preferred
• Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store
• Ability to work varied hours/days as dictated by business
