About the Role
We are seeking a Sanitation Operator to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As a Sanitation Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary facility to support food safety, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness across production and support areas.
Shift & Schedule
Shift: 1st Hours: 6 AM- 2:30 PM Weekend availability: Required
Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)
- Maintain cleanliness of facility surfaces, including floors, walls, ceilings, and drains, in accordance with sanitation schedules
- Manage waste disposal processes, including trash collection and cardboard compaction, to support a clean and organized workplace
- Execute sanitation procedures for production equipment during scheduled downtime and maintenance periods
- Operate and maintain sanitation equipment, such as floor scrubbers, to ensure safe and hygienic conditions
- Ensure all sanitation tools and supplies are properly maintained and ready for use
- Support audit readiness by preparing the facility for inspections, customer visits, and regulatory reviews
- Promote food safety and quality standards by identifying and reporting potential contamination risks
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive movements
- Willingness to work in variable temperature environments (hot, cold, humid)
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and sanitation down-days as needed
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
