Position Summary
We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to support the front-office operations of our outpatient surgery center. This role provides professional, compassionate patient service while managing registration, scheduling, phone calls, records, and other administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities

• Check patients in and out, complete registration, collect co-pays/deposits, and ensure required forms, consents, insurance information, and paperwork are complete.
• Answer and direct phone calls while providing friendly, professional service to patients, physicians, and staff.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments, manage cancellations and waitlists, and coordinate follow-up appointments.
• Create and maintain patient charts; accurately update and file documentation in the EMR.
• Maintain patient record confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and facility standards.
• Prepare examination rooms and support efficient clinical and administrative workflows.
• Provide compassionate assistance to patients and families.
• Maintain a clean, organized facility and assist with general administrative duties and supplies as needed.
• Complete required training and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of administrative experience
• At least 1 year of hands-on EMR experience
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain strict patient confidentiality
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, recordkeeping, and office procedures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software
• Flexibility to adjust scheduled hours to provide front-office coverage when needed

Preferred

• Previous medical office or ambulatory surgery center (ASC) front-office experience
• Experience with patient registration, insurance verification/eligibility, scheduling, and practice management systems
