Freight Bill ClerkThe Freight Bill Clerk supports a dedicated Transportation Management client with the accurate and timely processing of freight invoices and shipping documentation. This position plays a critical role in ensuring billing accuracy, cost control, and maintaining positive carrier and client relationships. This position reports to the Senior Account Manager.ResponsibilitiesAudit, process, and reconcile freight bills, invoices, and related documentsVerify carrier charges against contracts, rate agreements, and shipping documentationResolve discrepancies with carriers, clients, or internal departments as neededMaintain accurate billing records in internal systems and ensure timely data entryCommunicate with high volume carriers and vendors regarding payment statuses or billing issuesAssist with month-end reporting and provide carrier aging report status updatesCollaborate with the account management and carrier accounting teams to ensure the carrier partners are paid timely and streamline the client's cash flowQualificationsAssociates Degree Required4+ years' experience in billing / accounting environment1-2 years of transportation/clerical experience – LTL Bill of Ladings, freight invoices, and accessorial fee experienceExcellent in Microsoft Applications – Word, Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables)Excellent oral and written communication skillsWork as a team player, yet able to work independentlyMust have billing system experienceAble to communicate professionally & promptly with management, coworkers, and customersStrong analytical and mathematical skillsMust have leadership and organizational skillsMust have excellent MS Office Suite skills, Excel and Access a mustWe are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $19.19/hour - $25.59/hour. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay.
